| Healthy Hair Rinse Ingredients: 1 cup cider vinegar 3 cups distilled water 1 tablespoon glycerin 1 Tablespoon jojoba, avocado or macadamia nut oil Your favorite essential oil for scenting (start with 10 drops) Bring the water to a brisk boil, then remove from heat. Immediately add: For blonde hair - 1/8 cup chamomile flowers For dark hair - 1/8 cup sage For red hair - 1/8 cup rosehips 1/8 cup rosemary leaves 1/8 cup horsetail To Prepare: Cover and steep herb infusion for at least three hours. Strain well and allow to cool completely. Place infusion in blender and slowly add cider vinegar, glycerin and oil. Mix well until completely blended. Add essential oil for scent one drop at a time until odor is pleasant. To Use: Use after shampooing, rub into scalp and roots of hair and work down into ends. Add more to dry ends if necessary. Let mixture absorb into scalp and hair for several minutes, then rinse with lukewarm-to-cool water. Description: Vinegar stablizes the hair's pH balance and makes hair stronger, as well as smoothing down hair cuticles to give a shinier appearance. Rosemary has antiseptic qualities to control dandruff as well as increasing circulation to the hair cuticle. Horsetail herb contains silica, which improves hair strength and resilience. Chamomile, sage and rosehips are coloring agents which brighten your hair's natural color. |
| Hair Pack for Dry Hair Ingredients 2 tablespoons macadamia nut or sweet almond oil 1 tablespoon rosemary oil Mix oils thoroughly in a small container and warm by placing the container in a bowl of very hot water. Once warmed, apply oil with fingertips to scalp and work through to ends. Apply extra oil to ends if needed. Loosely pile hair on top of head and wrap with close fitting plastic wrap of with a shower cap. Then wrap with towel to retain heat. Allow oil to soak into hair for approximately one hour. Shampoo out with a gentle shampoo and follow up with the Hair Conditioning Rinse above. Those with especially thin hair may only wish to apply the hair pack to the ends of the hair only. |
| Healthy Hair Shampoo Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups distilled water 1/4 cup castile soap 2 tablespoons glycerin 2 Tablespoons dried horsetail herb 2 tablespoons catnip herb Directions: Bring water to brisk boil and remove from heat. Crush/bruise horsetail and catnip and add to water. Cover and steep at least three hours. Strain carefully. Return pot to stove and warm slowly. Add castile soap and glycerin. If hair is dry, add 1 tablespoon of coconut or macadamia nut oil. Remove from heat and blend in blender for a minute to fully incorporate incredients. Decant into plastic bottle for use. To use, wet hair thoroughly. Shake shampoo thoroughly, then pour a small amount of shampoo into palm and apply to scalp using fingertips. Start at the roots of the hair and work towards ends. If hair is dry or damaged, only apply to hair nearest scalp - first two or three inches. Massage into scalp for several minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
